Cory M. Baker

Founder & Managing Partner

Mr. Baker’s career and experience spans over 20 years across intellectual property, investing, brand management, M&A, licensing and marketing. Prior to the Consortium, in 2014 Mr. Baker partnered with Neuberger Berman to develop, launch and manage Marquee Brands. Marquee is a brand management company and acquisition platform sponsored by Neuberger Berman, where he operated the company along with Mr. DeVirgilio, as well serving on the board of managers. Before Marquee, Mr. Baker was Principal & Founder of Julian Wolf, a brand management & business development agency serving a wide range of clients in fashion, sports and entertainment including Sony Pictures Television.

Before founding Julian Wolf in 2013, Mr. Baker was the Managing Director of Brand Strategy and Development at Infinity Lifestyle Brands, heading up the firm’s brands division and overseeing all licensing, marketing, strategy, and development for the private equity portfolio. Mr. Baker also served on the management team at Iconix Brand Group, Inc. as VP, Business Affairs where his role included closing on over $1 billion in brand acquisitions and joint ventures and growing the portfolio from 12 to 24 global brands. At Iconix, Mr. Baker also helped strategize the company’s international marketing and brand management to develop cross-brand licensing expansion programs for the entire roster.

Mr. Baker began his career as an attorney specializing in intellectual property, corporate law, licensing and anti-counterfeiting focused on clients in fashion, media and hospitality. In 2019 together with Mr. DeVirgilio, Mr. Baker was named among FN’s Power List 2019: The Business Titans. Mr. Baker received his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park with Scholars citation in International Studies and his J.D. from New York Law School. Mr. Baker remains an avid industry speaker and advisor across the consumer industry.

Michael DeVirgilio

Founder & Managing Partner

Prior to the Consortium, in 2014 Mr. DeVirgilio partnered with Neuberger Berman to develop, launch and manage Marquee Brands.  Marquee is a brand management company and acquisition platform sponsored by Neuberger Berman, where he operated the company along with Mr. Baker, as well serving on the board of managers. Before Marquee, Mr. DeVirgilio spent 17 years with Kenneth Cole as President of Licensing & International at Kenneth Cole Productions, a role he held since February 2009. In this capacity, he led multiple teams charged with driving revenue through diverse business strategies, including licensing the Kenneth Cole brand across various product categories and channels in the US. Mr. DeVirgilio also led the expansion of the Kenneth Cole brand in 80+ countries and managed corporate strategic projects that focused on delivering alternative revenue streams unrelated to the Kenneth Cole brand.

Prior to joining Kenneth Cole Productions, Mr. DeVirgilio served as Director of Merchandising at the Joseph & Feiss Company (a Division of Hugo Boss, USA). Mr. DeVirgilio also held various sales and merchandising functions within both Hugo Boss USA and Hartmarx Corporation.

Jonathan Greller

Co-Founder & President

Jonathan Greller is the former President of Digital Ventures at Marquee Brands. Responsibility included building scale, expertise, and a strong digital community across all of Marquees brands with an accountability for portfolio, platforms, processes, people and achieving the P&L plan.  Prior to this Jonathan was the Head of Strategy & Corporate Development for Marquee Brands which included overseeing new strategic initiatives and data analytics. In addition Jonathan stepped in to successfully lead the efforts to transform the Destination Maternity business model to better compete in the digital age.

Jonathan Greller also served as President of Saks OFF 5TH & Gilt Groupe at Hudson’s Bay Company, and under Jonathan’s leadership, Saks off 5th enjoyed four years of consecutive growth(2014-2017), adding $500 million in sales. With over 25 years of experience at HBC and Lord & Taylor, Jonathan was well-positioned to lead Saks OFF 5TH as it embarked on a significant growth initiative.

In 2007 Jonathan launched Black Brown 1826 with world-renowned designer Joseph Abboud. During his tenure, Jonathan served as senior vice president at Lord & Taylor/Hudson’s Bay, responsible for Men’s, Women’s, Private Brands, Design, Global sourcing, and licensing. Jonathan began his career with Lord & Taylor in 1993 and worked in many executive merchandising roles before rising to Group SVP for HBC and Lord & Taylor.

Jonathan currently serves as a Board Advisor of The Gathering Shops, a retail service platform to support emerging designers. In addition Jonathan also currently serves on the retail advisory board at Syracuse University and the Father of Year National Council.
